Antriksh Jain's educational and professional background is diverse and multi-faceted. Born and raised in Chandigarh, he pursued a Diploma from the Indo Swiss Training Centre, Chandigarh, followed by a B.Tech degree in Mechanical Engineering from Chandigarh Engineering College, Landran (Mohali). Prior to his civil services journey, Antriksh had a brief professional experience of 9 months at Saint Gobain Glass India, Hyderabad. For Paper 1, Antriksh relied on Pranay Aggarwal's class notes, the book by Nitin Sangwan, and selectively used the Haralambos Blue Book for specific chapters on research methods and sociological thinkers. For Paper 2, he primarily used Pranay Aggarwal's notes, the Nitin Sangwan book, and supplemented his preparation with Mohapatra's notes for topics not covered in Pranay Aggarwal's classes.
Preparation Timeline
Antriksh started his Sociology Paper 1 preparation in November 2020 and completed it by December. He then joined the Socio Mentor test series in January 2021 to improve his answer writing structure. He began his Paper 2 preparation in March 2021 and joined the Socio Mentor test series in June 2021 for the same purpose. During this time, he also read the Nitin Sangwan book in parallel with the topics covered in the classes. Antriksh revised Paper 1 and Paper 2 multiple times before the Prelims and joined the Vision IAS test series after the Prelims for further refinement.
